A conference on "The Real Risks of Prescription Drugs" will be held in Washington, D.C. on 11-12 June 2015

Organised by the non-profit group PharmedOut, the conference will include discussions on "Deprescribing", "Misuse of antipsychotic drugs" and a variety of related topics.

PharmedOut is a Georgetown University Medical Center project, directed by Adriane Fugh-Berman MD,  that promotes rational prescribing and exposes unethical pharmaceutical marketing tactics.

PharmedOut's fifth conference, “The Real Risks of Prescription Drugs” will be held 11-12 June 2015 at Georgetown University (Lohrfink Auditorium) in Washington D.C.

Topics for the 2015 conference include:

  • The rising cost of drugs
  • Polypharmacy in elders
  • Deprescribing
  • Industry influence on clinical guidelines
  • Misuse of antipsychotic drugs
  • The intimidation of researchers, and many other topics.
