Abstract
- In order to provide high-quality health care, it is useful to continually reassess which products to use and those to avoid, recognising the difference between a therapeutic advance and a new product that serves only commercial interests, and between false, biased or worthless information and robust, proven, practical information.
- 2020 was marked by the covid-19 pandemic, a disease caused by infection with the coronavirus Sars-CoV-2.
- Little was known about this infection when it first emerged in the winter of 2019-2020, but very large amounts of data were published about it in 2020.
- Prescrire sorted through them as they became available, in order to determine which data were useful for the treatment and prevention of covid-19.
