European fines for anti-generic strategies: when will penalties get tougher?

 Outlook  Anti-competitive strategies are designed to delay the market introduction of copies (generics and biosimilars) of originator drugs, which are a major source of savings for third-party payers. Their significant impact on national finances is only marginally mitigated by the amounts of the fines imposed on pharmaceutical companies, which are a pittance in comparison to their revenues.
